Bridal Party Tips : Care and Alterations
Alterations
Be sure to order the dress in plenty of time to allow for alterations to be completed before the wedding. It is important to make sure that alterations are scheduled at least 3 months prior to the wear date. If alterations are started at least a month before the wedding, that should allow plenty of time for the alterations to be completed.
You should expect at least one fitting and a separate pick-up appointment.
Ask the bride if there are any specific requirements that you need to be aware of during alterations.
Make sure to try on your dress approximately 2 weeks before the wedding to ensure the dress fits nicely and comfortably.
Transporting your gown
When transporting your dress, make sure to keep it stored in its bag to prevent it from getting dirty.
Pressing/Steaming your gown
After your dress has been steamed, take it out of the bag and let it hang up to avoid wrinkling.
