Design & Alterations Tips : Care and Alterations
So you found the gown of your dreams, now what?
Give us a call to schedule your first fitting! We do require appointments to insure that we have a seamstress here.
At your first fitting, please remember the undergarments and shoes you plan to wear on your big day!
To get the most out of your alterations, please allow 3-5 months for custom fitting. If you don’t have 3-5 months, don’t worry, we’ll do whatever we can to accommodate your needs.
We require a minimum of 3 fittings and a separate pick up. On average, a bride can expect their fittings to cost $290-$390. Custom work will usually require additional fittings and charges.
Like many brides, if you are on a weight loss plan, it is best to start your alterations after your weight has stabilized.
We welcome any ideas or pictures that you may have about your alterations.
When I get measured what should I wear?
It is best to be measured in your undergarments.
Can I use my measurements from a wedding last summer?
We suggest updating your measurements every six months.
What do I need for my first fitting?
It is absolutely necessary to have your shoes and any other undergarments that you are planning on wearing under your dress.
What if I lose/gain weight after my first fitting?
Additional alterations can be made to the dress to make sure it fits properly.
Are alterations included in the price of my gown.
No, alterations are done at an additional charge.
Do you press/steam my gown?
Yes, pressing/steaming is a part of our alterations service.
When should I schedule alterations?
You need to schedule your first alterations appointment for about 3 months before your wedding or event.
How long will my alterations appointment take?
The first appointment for a bridal gown fitting will last from 45 minutes to an hour. A first appointment for a bridesmaids dress fitting will be around 30 minutes.
