Things to know about Schaffer's before you start shopping

MEASUREMENTS: The measurements that we need to order your tuxedo are: Coat size, waist measurement, outseam, neck measurement, sleeve length, chest, and shoe size.

DELIVERY/PICK-UP: The tuxedos come in on the Thursday prior to your event, occasionally earlier. Once your tuxedo has arrived in the store, you will receive a call letting you know that you should come in and try on your tuxedo.

RETURN: Tuxedos can be returned on Sunday from 11-4 or at the latest Monday 10-1. If your tuxedo is returned after this time frame there is a $20 fee for every day it is late.

ALTERATIONS: At Schaffer’s we are committed to perfect fits. If there are any adjustments that need to be made, we have an in house alterations department that can make them. If a tuxedo jacket is too large or too small, we will send it back and will have the replacement jacket available the next day.

RING BEARERS: Ring bearers can rent a tuxedo. However, the smallest size of tuxedo that we carry is a 3T. We are charged the same amount of money to rent a ring bearer’s tuxedo as an adult. In addition, it takes more time to clean a smaller tuxedo.

The difference between a Tuxedo and a Suit

A tuxedo has a satin lapel and a satin stripe down the outside of the tuxedo pant leg, while a suit does not have any satin on the lapel or down the pant leg.
